Summer Vacation?

So, is it summer vacation or not... I'm not even sure it's summer with the weather we have been having!  Summer vacation makes me think of my childhood, you know, with no responsibilities, no school, no work... hanging out in the sun working on my tan.  As a college student this is the first summer in six years that I haven't taken classes, a very strange concept for me now.

This summer, so far, I've moved from Monmouth to Salem.  Drastic difference in size of community and size of apartment.  Two bedroom townhouse to a studio apartment, yep that was fun, sort and pack, what will fit in the new place and what will not!  My sister thank goodness, offered her garage as a storage space for me, I feel guilty but also know that I have to remove stuff from her garage in the next year.

I've also been on the never-ending job search this summer, let's just say it's not going well.  According to news reports yesterday the economy/employment rates have been stagnate for the last four months... well duh I could have told them that, but they had to do a study!

Coming up quick this summer is the Jesse family reunion, which I have the distinction of planning.  I don't know why we are calling it the "Jesse" family reunion, there are not that many Jesse's coming to this gathering.  I say that in jest, most everyone attending at one time had the last name Jesse or one of their parent's did.

Speaking of family, I've also been helping my mom work on genealogy stuff for the Jesse, Kemper and Keele families.  My part in this project generally consists of editing any documents she writes, of what fun, my sister (Nancy) gets the lovely chore of typing all of mom's handwritten notes and documents.  In some ways I think I lucked out in the division of work ;-)

Time to work on one of my many projects, later friends.

P.s.  I forgot to mention earlier, before I edited this post...   I have been trying to make a few changes in my life for health reasons, and also I like a challenge.  This week I have cut back on coffee, two cups a day instead of one pot a day.  I have also started walking for an hour at a time each day.  Included in these healthy changes is drinking more water.  Wish me luck on my changes/challenges.
